Jobs I Don't Have- Pt. 4

2 months in the city and 3 posts from the Audition Chronicles: an ever-dreaded tradition.

Guys & Dolls, FL
Audition Date: 11/10/10
Location: Chelsea Studios, NY
Non-Eq dismissed: good thing I waited it out just in case...I got verbal confirmation that my time isn't valued.

A Chorus Line, WI
Audition Date: 11/15/10
Callback Date: 11/16/10
Location: Chelsea Studios, NY
Highlight: Getting another callback from a singing call, and already knowing the opening combo thanks to the audition from hell back in September, not having to go to Wisconsin for January and February.
Lesson Learned: When you go to a callback, even if it's 'to dance', it's a good idea to be vocally warmed up.

Mama Mia!
Audition Date: 11/15/10
Location: Pearl Studios, NY
Highlight: Again, already knowing the dance... to Rihanna instead of Gaga this time.
Lesson Learned: Everything's easier the second time around.

Jersey Boys
Audition Date: 11/19/10
Location: Pearl Studios, NY
Highlight: The choreographer asking for pills before we started.
Lesson Learned: People wear party dresses to Jersey Boys' auditions, next time I will too.

Shrek National Tour
Audition Date: 11/29/10
Location: Pearl Studios, NY
Highlight: No hot water for a shower? No. Breaking a nail? No. Cramps? No....I'll get back to you on this one.
Lesson Learned: When forced to sit in line rather than sign in and disperse, leave ear buds in as long as possible.

The Addams Family
Audition Date: 11/29/10
Location: Pearl Studios, NY
Highlight: Using the flamenco I was forced to study when I was 10.
Lesson Learned: When you stop thinking while you dance, sometimes you mess up.

and BEST OF ALL: the next post will be just the counterpoint that too many of these too close together needs. Balance is a beautiful thing.

ADDITIONALLY: on the subject of actor challenges- enjoy one of the most phenomenally funny videos I've seen in a while (besides Maru of course). Welcome to my life.
